Aim and Scope

The Journal of the Environment, (JOE), is a scholarly, peer reviewed open access journal, published by the Faculty of Environmental Studies, Abia State University, Uturu, Abia State, Nigeria. The journal is published quarterly and covers all areas of the built environment. The journal publishes fundamental and original theoretical as well as innovative empirical research on the many aspects of the built environment. The journal hopes to stimulate conversation among the academia, policy makers, international agency staff, students and researchers mainly in the developing counties but also among those in developed countries.
Core themes have been identified based on recent trends in Africa, Asia, and South America: resource use broadly speaking; environmental design, sustainability, life cycle issues, development, governance, poverty and pro-poor development, housing, transportation, climate change and mitigation.
