GUIDELINE TO CONTRIBUTORS
All articles submitted for the journal should be 12-18 pages including references; tables or illustrations or should be much shorter. The articles should be typed on A4 paper with double line spacing. In preparing the manuscript, the following aspects should be taken into consideration: the first page of the paper should contain the title of the article, the author’s surname and initials, the university or place where the research as done as well as the author’s address or correspondence including phone number and e-mail. In cases where there are two more authors, the editorial board will deal only with the lead author except otherwise indicated. The second page should carry the title of the paper and the abstract, which should be kept short (not exceeding 200 words) since it simply highlights the main theme or argument.
The references (Strictly American Psychological Association – APA latest edition style) cited in the text should be listed in alphabetical order at the end of the article. The following example below should be used to ensure that there is uniformity.
- Surname and initials of other names
- The date of publication
- The title of the work
- The name journal or periodical in which the article was published
- The volume/series number
- The page number

Within the test. However, any reference should only mention the authors and date of publication. The illustration for articles such as maps and diagram be drawn with Indian ink or tracing paper. All photographs should be on white paper with high contrast. Photographic illustrations should be avoided but where their use is inevitable, they should be reduced to a minimum.
The Journal of the Environment is a referred journal. So all articles which are submitted for publication in JOE are reviewed anonymously by two or three experts. Once the final version of the article is accepted, efforts will be made to publish it within the space of one or two issues. All contributors to this journal are advised to comply with the guidelines before submitting their papers. The author, whose articles has been published in any issue of the Journal of the Environment, will receive a copy of that issue.
In order to facilitate the examining exercise or the review of papers, authors are requested to send three copies of the paper in English. We shall do galley proof reading for accepted articles. Four or five major key words should be provided at the end of the abstract. In addition, the same material should be submitted on a CD or as E-mail attachment.
